CASE STUDIES - DESIGN & PRODUCTION STREAMLINE LEAD TIMES
2 WEEKS DESIGN & PRODUCTION
Applied Medical urgently needed to complete its laboratory project within two weeks because safety was always a concern. A Go/No Go marker light at the laboratory door would remind everyone to follow established safety procedures, and could help prevent costly injuries and illnesses where hazards were present.
The Solution: A custom low voltage Go/No Go marker light that could be quickly integrated onto the existing junction box at the laboratory door. Along with in-house mechanical and electrical engineering, Teslyte completed the design including 12V DC low voltage dual-channel red/green printed circuit board and junction box, within two weeks. Teslyte’s 12V marker light design was compatible with a multiple-channel remote-mounted DC driver.
The Results: This solution is expanding beyond laboratory doors to clean room and bank doors.
4 WEEKS DESIGN & PRODUCTION
Sylmar Court Apartments is a 100% affordable housing development for homeless applications serviced by the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.
The Solution: Teslyte provided affordable 25W LED wall sconces for the project within four weeks, including design, fabrication and UL certification.
The Results: This development provided 25 permanent supportive housings units for chronically homeless applicants and six for homeless applicants.
6 WEEKS DESIGN & PRODUCTION
The City of Westminster sought a local manufacturer to assist with a project to convert bollards and traditional lantern post tops to LED. It was important to maintain the design of the fixtures, so retrofit was the only viable option. The specification called for the bollards and column lights to utilize the existing mounting base. Teslyte was able to assist and comply with the tight deadline as the city’s budget was closing. Teslyte’s engineers manufactured a custom plate matching the existing base plate to fit with the current anchor bolts on the job site. During the second phase, Teslyte successfully retrofitted the traditional antique lantern fixtures and replaced the 70W high-pressure sodium with high-pressure LED. Teslyte provided two mock-up samples for the comparison with the competition’s 70W retrofit kits. Teslyte’s kit proved superior with better visual appearance and performance at only 40W. Teslyte managed all UL listings and delivered the product with the standard 5-year warranty.
The Solution: Teslyte’s field engineers are always on the front line of the business, involved in all phases of the project, from acquiring the first data needed for design to listening to the needs of the customer. Within six-weeks, Teslyte designed and delivered a bollard and pole mount family that not only was uniform in appearance but also reduced the installation time by matching the mounting base and overall cost of the project.
The Results: The City of Westminster was pleased with Teslyte’s design and performance and subsequently requested Teslyte to retrofit its parking lot with the goal of 50-55% reduction in energy usage compared to the HPS.
